Alfa 9 are a pop-sensation, underlining Noel Gallagher's wall-of-guitars with astral-harmonies signalled straight in from Marc Bolan's grave and the pop sensibility of the last Super Furry Animal on earth.... |

The Lovers is the brainchild of Tom Hingley – former lead singer of The Inspiral Carpets, a band that along with The Happy Mondays and The Stone Roses defined everything that was good about the UK music-scene at the beginning of the 1990’s. |

Hi I'm Brother Bastion AKA Dave Thorpe; acoustic singer/songwriter and one of the Attic's resident DJ's. My regular night was a Saturday, but currently shuffling everything round. I tend to play your straight down the line indie stuff like Kaiser Chiefs, Killers, etc... but try to cater for as many styles as I can without getting to rooted, which ain't always easy. I'll play a lot of punk stuff from Green Day to classics by the Clash, Dead Kennedys, SLF through to metal such as System of a Down and Motorhead, and the more Leftfield dance and hip-hop by bands like Royksopp, Prodigy, The Roots, NWA, Public Enemy. The latter mentioned stuff often upsets some of the hard core 'indie kids' that come to listen to Franz Ferdinand every week, but I have to cater for a lot of tastes. I like a lot of different stuff and will try something new when it suits me; if you don't like what I'm playing, then that's too bad 'cause I ain't going to turn it off just for you. I'm not interested if anyone thinks a record is shit so spare me your opinions and enjoy the night as a whole. See you on the dancefloor... |
